Luis Hernando Lozano Paredes-Martinez

Luis H. Lozano-Paredes is a PhD candidate in Built Environment at the University of Technology Sydney (2019-2023). He received his M.Sc. in Urban Economics from Torcuato di Tella University. He also holds a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from the University of Belgrano and a Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the Paris Lodron University Salzburg and the University of Belgrano via UNIGIS. He also has a Diploma in Public Policy from the National Institute of Public Administration of Argentina. Luis has extensive experience in the built environment with a mix of governmental urban and regional planning practice, university lecturing, learning design, real estate analysis and procurement and academic research. Luis has conducted research projects for the Argentinean Federal Government (Ministry of Transportation & Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation). He has also participated in policy planning projects with the World Bank and capacity building with the Interamerican Development Bank and the Ministry of Modernisation of the Argentine Republic (2015-2019). Luis also participated in and developed projects with UN-HABITAT for social housing and transport accessibility in Argentina and received a research grant from Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) for studying innovative urban economies in Latin America. Luis has been a lecturer at the University of Belgrano in the areas of Urbanism and Urban and Regional Planning. During his time in Australia, he has also worked as a research assistant and casual academic for the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Melbourne. He has also been a fellow in mainline political economy at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University in the USA.
