Philippa Chandler

Philippa Chandler is Research Fellow (Honorary) at the Melbourne School of Design, University of Melbourne, plus teaches at Monash University. Philippa is interested in the relationships between people and places, and how communities create a sense of identity in relation to their surroundings. Philippa's PhD explored place-attachment, community and environmental conflict among return visitors (particularly 'grey nomads') to the Ningaloo Reef region of Western Australia. Most recently, she investigated how schools can double-up as community hubs, as part of the ARC Linkage Building Connections: Schools as Community Hubs.
